頬を撫でたら When the wind blows
‘The wind is indeed, the unbelievable soft, ultimate fossil’ - Gan Tanikawa 1989
There are certain excerpts that just linger around the back of your mind throughout life. They float and sink. Suddenly appears without a notice. Such a phrase is the above quote by the Japanese poet Gan Tanikawa
to me. The uncertainty of the physical world and the ephemerality are what I was drawn into when working on this project. In this work, I attempted to examine the wind as a metaphor for abstract and invisible ideas in relation to ceramics as a manifestation of the rig- id, material world. The objects serve, so to speak, as a whisper of the metaphysical world.
